My second oldest daughter really enjoyed making these. All of her friends are getting some for Christmas. They're very easy to make and not expensive.

You will need several thin ballpoint pens. Don't use fountain pens as you won't be able to replace the cartridges. Also, green floral tape and several stems of silk flowers along with something to cut them with. (We used tin snips beacause my husband couldn't find the wire cutters.)

First, cut the stem of your flower so that it is about 1/4 of the length of the pen.

Starting at the tip of the pen, wrap florists tape around. Press firmly as you go.

When you get a fourth of the way from the top, lay your flower on the side of the pen.

Continue wrapping the tape around the pen and the stem. Just tear off the tape when you have the pen completely covered and press firmly.

And there you go! A fun pen to use or give away.

You can put as many flowers stems as you like, be creative! These make great gifts for your guests. Simply fill a flower vase with the pens and use it as a decoration. When your guests leave, encourage them to take a flower pen. Or use them as a decoration on top of a gift.
